Filmmaker's note

GENESIS is an experimental 3-minute animation that is part of the Sudden Nature suite, a project about the uneasy relation between Man and Nature. GENESIS is also about an inescapable relationship, care and destruction, life and death. Life is created from light and motion. A man and a woman are born and fall in love, but their harmony is short lived. The short combines a variety of animation techniques including 2D animation, live action and computer-generated animation. The original musical score was a collaboration with Spanish composer Sergio Moure. The humorous and somewhat absurd voice-over is provided by Singaporean actors Lim Yu-Beng and Oon Shu An.
