About the director
Irina Arnaut is an artist and filmmaker based in New York. Her video art has been shown in exhibitions and film festivals throughout the United States and internationally, including Slamdance, Revelation Perth International Film Festival, Big Muddy Film Festival, Milwaukee Underground Film Festival, Martos Gallery (New York), Ms Barbers Gallery (Los Angeles), Queens Museum of Art (New York), and the Living Art Museum (Reykjavík, Iceland). Irina has been awarded the Yaddo Fellowship and the Millay Colony Fellowship, and was an artist in residence at the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council's Governors Island Residency. Irina's background as a visual artist inspired many of the details in her first narrative short film, Gary (2024).
