Synopsis

When professional sound recordist Lourdes is hired at the last minute on an interview for a popular Mexican TV show, she finds the crew unwelcoming, the snacks sparse, and the vibe sour. The interview subject also happens to be a media tycoon in the middle of a sexual assault scandal. Lourdes tries her best to be professional, but she soon bears witness to a series of ugly truths about the man whose voice she's charged with capturing, as well as the entire landscape of her profession.

About the director

Mercedes San Román is a writer and director from Mexico City. She earned her BA in Latin-American Literature before completing an MFA in Film and Television Production at the University of Southern California. Aside from her interest in writing and directing, she worked as an on-set sound recordist in short films and documentaries while studying in Los Angeles and back in her native Mexico. She used her experiences as a sound recordist to write the script for Corre sonido, which was selected for funding by ProcineCDMX, a prestigious film trust that supports new filmmakers that base their work in the Mexico City area.
